From the parking lot across from the entrance to the Mesekendahl, turn left and walk along the parking lot to the road leading to Sonnenscheid, then follow the idyllic path along the stream to the oil mill. Along the way, you can take a break or play at a shallow ford, or even take a shortcut. Then, after crossing the stream, turn left again to return to Mesekendahl.
A visit to the wildlife park and a light snack can round out the hike.
