Weather Museum Alte Schule Schreufa e. V.

The museum, located in what used to be a large classroom, displays exhibits from Liesen’s time, including his handwritten weather records.
Visitors can also view weather instruments ranging from those in the weather station to historical measuring instruments and weather balloons.

The Alte Schule Schreufa e. V. Weather Museum is a hands-on museum where the weather is explained in a playful way and climate change is also highlighted. In the experiment kitchen, visitors can conduct small experiments or build their own weather instruments.

The “Climate Fence of Remembrance” shows that the average temperature in Germany has been rising continuously for about 30 years. The Weather and Climate Garden features a fully automated weather station, whose data can also be viewed on the museum’s website.

Furthermore, the phenological clock shows that vegetation is emerging earlier and earlier each year. The Earth’s water cycle is powered by wind and solar energy.

Information panels and cloud diagrams explain climate change and weather phenomena.

Every first Sunday of the month, the museum opens with various lectures as well as coffee and cake.
