"The highway sign with its comic-like treatment marks the location. Above the quote by Frank Stella is a laser-cut or cut-out thought bubble (comic) through which you can look.
It provides the space to think or (only) to look up at the sky or into the landscape.
The work "Durchblick" can be viewed from both sides, i.e. 2 signs are joined together to create a sign sculpture.
With our daily automobility, we are conditioned to road signs. We pay attention to them (more or less), they steer and guide us subconsciously.
For the recreational walker, who is not traveling more than 5 km per hour, the sign in the landscape appears questionable and meaningless. It is the same for cyclists, who travel an average of 16 km per hour.
It is a break that is important for the moment of thought. The quote to be read on the sign is implanted and then lost in the thought bubble.
The way is cleared for your own thoughts."
