Thoughts on the motto of the Bürgerschützengesellschaft Warstein e.V.
From time immemorial, the Schützenbruderschaft has been at the heart of the local community. Its motto "Faith, Customs, Homeland" refers to the good tradition inherited from the forefathers that the practice of the Christian faith, the preservation of the customs and morals founded in this faith and the love of the ancestral homeland should be particularly cultivated. We respect and live by these ideals and thus devote all our energy to the motto "Faith, Customs, Homeland".
Professing our faith
It is a happiness and a joy to be able to believe that life comes from God's hand, that God carries life, that God is there for us.
Protect custom
The good behavior that has developed over the centuries, the good actions that have become established in people's minds and proven to be a habit, have become good morals. Reason and conscience allow us to recognize what is good and right, what corresponds to human dignity and the nature of the matter and what the situation requires, which ultimately serves peace and creates justice.
Loving our homeland
Where we are at home, we feel at home, that is our home. God has entrusted us Warsteiners with a particularly beautiful part of his creation. This is where the roots of our origins lie. Many generations of our ancestors have lived here. This is where our inherited and acquired way of thinking, speaking and acting was formed. This is where we live and work with responsibility for future generations. We are links in a chain.
We wish all the Schützenbrüder and Schützenschwestern in our society that their long-standing tradition of standing up for faith, custom and homeland will continue to prove its worth in the future.
