Built in 1937/38 on the hilltop of the 481 m high Weilenscheid, it was set on fire in 1945 during the last days of the war.

Until 1997, the old tower foundation dominated the image of the Weilenscheid, and

in 1997 a new tower was built entirely of wood. After 60 steps (staircase construction and spiral staircase) you reach the viewing platform of the 14.50 m high viewing tower.

A hike via the A16, A17 or x8 hiking trails to the Wallburgturm is definitely worthwhile.
