From this vantage point, a wide view opens up over the center of Ramsbeck with the Catholic church of St. Margaretha and the southwestern slope of the Dörnberg. This is the site of the former "Willibald" ore processing plant, which is now covered in greenery and, despite renaturation, still shows traces of historical mining.

The plant was built in terraces on the slope from 1890 and was used to process the ore extracted underground into lead and zinc concentrates. These were then transported to the smelting sites by narrow-gauge railroad, later by truck and rail. After the mine was closed in 1974, the plant was dismantled, but was a prominent feature of the Ramsbeck townscape for many decades.

Directions

Take the R72 bus from Bestwig to the Sauerland visitor mine and the mining trail.
