One of the best places in the Schmallenberg Sauerland for sunrise is the whole "village" of Herschede, which consists of just a few individual farms. The Lauschpohl Tour 1 takes you to a refuge with a panorama board. There you have a good view of the sunrise at any time of year. (You can also get there by car: if you don't take the road to Arpe coming from Bracht, but keep left (dead end), you will reach the refuge between the farms).
