The Sundern nativity scene is a very special gem. In addition to the Biblical scenes, this nativity scene also depicts 30 deceased people from Sundern's history. These include the former German President Heinrich Lübke from Enkhausen, the Erfurt Bishop Hugo Aufderbeck, as well as the carter Clute-Simon from Allendorf, who saved the bones of the Three Wise Men from the looters of the French Revolution over 200 years ago. The replica of the former Rochus Chapel serves as a stable. During the Christmas season, you can visit the nativity scene in St. John's Church in the pedestrian zone of Sundern.
