Visit the St. Georg ski jump in Winterberg. Competition venue and talent factory.
Properties:
It is the landmark of Ferienwelt Winterberg. The arch of the St.-Georg-Schanze rises strikingly 80 meters high above the landscape at Herrloh. Hopeful young talents from the Winterberg Ski Club train there all year round. It's always the season on the plastic covered hill. German championships and the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix are held at the German Ski Association's (DSV) national base.
2,000 spectators can be seated in the stands and on the ground-level area of the event arena. Watch the "eagles" during the competitions and keep your fingers crossed for them.
From the 22-metre-high viewing platform, you can look down deep into the valley. Take a break on the sun terrace in the ski jump restaurant - there you have a beautiful view of the low mountain range and Winterberg.
