Hiking experiences around Sohl
The "Sohl" hiking parking lot is the starting point for numerous hikes and walks. From here you can reach the species-rich "Schweizer Grund" meadow valley or take the old church path past the Dambach farm to the former pilgrimage church in Girkhausen. Take a detour to the Drehkoite in Girkhausen. The "Ziegenhellen", one of the most extensive elevations in the Rothaargebirge, is also a worthwhile hiking destination with its viewing tower. The tower is almost 15 m high and offers a panoramic view of the Rothaargebirge. To get there, first take the A 3 circular trail from the hiking parking lot through beech and spruce forests, along the Schwarzenau and below the Moselkopf. From the halfway point of the 6.2 km circular trail, you can continue to Ziegenhellen near Heiligenborn.
Further hiking options:
A 2 circular trail: The A 2 trail starts at the hiking parking lot and leads around 3.4 km around the 698 m high Peterskopf.
In winter, the area is ideal for cross-country skiing.
