Many residents of Sassendorf know that the “Kleine Teehaus” was originally a soap and soda factory run by the von Viebahn family. In the mid-19th century, this building was used for about a decade as part of the local salt industry. A small chemical factory was established here. After operations ceased, these rooms became home to the first children’s bathhouse of the Bad Sassendorf Children’s Sanatorium.

Today, visitors can sample exquisite tea and coffee specialties here and treat themselves to a slice of cake. For more information about the café and its hours of operation, visit www.cafe-sassendorf.de
