The history of salt began here with the trade of the precious raw material, but it also tells us about its benefits for our health and its recreational value.
The Salzwaage is part of the Sassendorf Salt Trails, a tour through the village. It was created by Kord Winter, who
works as a sculptor and graduate designer in Ampen. He is best known to Soest residents for the Aldegreverbrunnen fountain with the three-figure group of wedding dancers on the southern Petri church square (1989, made of bronze and Anröchte dolomite).
