The brine is covered with blackthorn brushwood (lat. Prunus Spinosa), also known as blackthorn. When the brine drops (6 to 10%) fall over the brushwood wall, the air is enriched with fine salt particles (natural aerosols). This creates a maritime climate, the air is comparable to the spicy North Sea air!
The healing effect of the brine air mixture has been confirmed by balneologists (balneology: the science of healing springs). When inhaled, the aerosols reach the fine pulmonary alveoli. They increase blood flow to the respiratory tract surface and thus develop their healthy effect. Inhalation prevents and offers asthma and bronchial sufferers noticeable relief.
