The saltworks stood here since the 12th century; at its peak, it operated nine boiling pans and four Gradierwerke. A machine house and a bathhouse were also built here.
A salt worker’s star is embedded in the pavement, and a seal of the salt workers’ cooperative hangs in Café Blaubeere. This building is the only one remaining from the saltworks.
