The Plettenberg town library is one of the most important cultural and educational institutions for young and old. Located at the Alter Markt in the town center, it is open to all citizens of Plettenberg, the surrounding towns and communities and guests of our town.

A constantly updated range of books, audio books, CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs and magazines is available. It is used for information and further education, relaxation and entertainment in leisure time as well as for forming public opinion. On an area of 650 square meters, there is also a comfortable reading café with current magazines, a student center with learning aids for all classes and four Internet workstations. A wide-ranging program of events, guided tours for kindergartens, schools and other groups and various projects to promote reading round off the library's offerings.
