Old hedge shelter

The "Alte Hecke" refuge is passed by the Hilchenbach wind hiking trail. This is a 4.7 km circular trail that provides extensive information on how the natural power of wind is harnessed using state-of-the-art technology - to the benefit of the region and the environment. The Hilchenbacher Höhenring also runs directly past the refuge and invites you to take a break.

From the refuge, you can also hike to the Oberndorfer Höhe, past the "Drei Buchen" and"Goldener Zapfen" viewpoints.
