Because the cemetery in Obermarsberg was overcrowded, the cemetery was built on the edge of a residential area.

There was a synagogue in Niedermarsberg in the Weist from 1735, which was rebuilt in 1849 after a fire. The interior was destroyed in 1938 and the house was sold.

In the 18th century, the old Jewish school was built on a hill at Paulinenstraße 17. The building is still well preserved today.

The cemetery is locked, the key is available at the town hall!
