Under the motto "Discover and experience diversity", NaturRanger e.V. - NaRa for short - aims to support and bring together people who volunteer for the environment. The focus is on shared nature experiences. Personal experiences of nature form the basis for a conscious understanding of interrelationships and respectful cooperation.
The NaturRangers want to be a reliable network and a sustainable partner for our environment and for simple voluntary nature conservation work. That is why they are keen to pool the Wissen of their members and groups, promote innovative projects and small-scale projects and invite the public to follow their example.
NaturRanger e.V. has three main projects:
Up close and personal with bats
The aim of the project "On a first-name basis with bats" is to bring these rare animals and people closer together again. On bat safaris, during overnight stays in the bat hotel or in group work, children and adults get to know and appreciate the hunters of the night from a completely different perspective. A project based on the motto: you can only protect what you know and love. Since 2014, the project has been an award-winning project of the UN Decade on Biodiversity
Global diversity - discover it sustainably
Looking beyond the borders of our country is necessary to be able to act globally and sustainably. We want to give our members this insight and thus promote respect, understanding and Wissen. Our first cooperation is with Norway. The vast natural landscape of Scandinavia is impressive and those who hike through it feel the enormous power of nature. The rangers find a welcoming temporary home at the Magalaupe campsite at the foot of the Dovrefjell-Sundalsfjella National Park, near the small town of Oppdal.(www.magalaupe.no) An ideal starting point to get to know and love the country and its people.
Family adventure hikes
Joint hikes with great nature experiences are fun, inexpensive, promote community and bring us a little closer to our homeland... because even in Germany there are many beautiful places with a touch of "wilderness". For the groups, it is an opportunity to explore their homeland and present it to other nature lovers. For the association, this can develop into a diverse range of nature experiences throughout Germany for NaRas by NaRas.
From Bestwig station, take the R74 bus (direction Brilon) to Bestwig, Alfert. From there it is a 14-minute walk over the level crossing and along the dammed Ruhr.
