The history of the BADULIKUM cultural and heritage association
On 20.12.2006 the boards of the two traditional Belecke associations
- Verkehrs- und Heimatverein Belecke, founded in 1934
- Förderverein Badulikum, founded in 1989
concluded the notarized merger agreement.
The merger took place on an equal footing after intensive consultations between the boards, even though the
"merger agreement" - to put it in legally correct terms - the Verkehrs- und Heimatverein (transferring association) was merged with the Förderverein Badulikum (acquiring association). The merged association will continue and further develop the good experiences and traditions of both associations.
Among other things, the Mühlrad and Low German language working groups, the work of the local heritage keeper and the publication of publications about Belecke were brought into the new association by the Verkehrs- und Heimatverein, while the association structure, the organization of Sturmtag and Schnadezug and the awarding of the Mayor Wilke Prize were brought into the new association by the Förderverein.
At the general meetings on 10.01.2007 (Heimatverein) and 11.01.2007 (Badulikum), the members of the association unanimously approved the merger of the two traditional associations.
At the first general meeting of the merged association on 30.03.2007, the new statutes and the change of name to "Kultur- und Heimatverein Badulikum" were unanimously approved.
The history of the two predecessor associations therefore goes back to 1934 and will be briefly described here using a wide variety of sources.
