At the beginning of the 20th century, the patron Count Wilhelm zu Droste Vischering agreed to replace the old, dilapidated church with a new building in the Baroque style, taking over the interior furnishings with the Baroque altars.
The foundation stone was laid in 1911 and the neo-baroque style church was consecrated in 1912, adapted to the magnificent baroque altars from the sculptor's workshop of Heinrich Papen from Giershagen, as well as the baptismal font with alabaster columns. The oldest of the five bells bears the date 1684.
During a renovation between 1973 and 1975, the previously light grey exterior color of the church was replaced with the original yellow color.
