Together with the churches in the districts of Schalksmühle and Heedfeld, which are also listed as monuments, the parish church in Hülscheid bears witness to the sacred architecture of past centuries and therefore has significant documentary and symbolic value for the local area. The two large bells of Hülscheid church, dated 1482 and 1487, date back to the Catholic period of the Hülscheid community. The small third bell was cast in the second half of the 12th century.

Hülscheid Protestant parish church is a hall church with a recessed square choir and square tower with a recessed pointed spire in front of the west gable. Plastered quarrystone masonry and slate roof, triaxial arched windows, under the middle one on the south side a stone with the chronogram 1784: "AUXILIANTE DEO ECCLESIA HAECCE EX FUNDO RENOVATA ET PERFECTA / EST SUB CURA TH. H. PÖPINGHAUS HÜLSCHE DENDIUM / REFORMATORIUM FIDELIS AB ARCHITECTIS CORN. HEND ET CASP. WILH. IAC. ULENBERG FRATRIBUS". Two baroque gravestones on the south side of the tower.
