"Berghagener Kopf" recreation area
The "Linde" hiking parking lot is the starting point for numerous hikes and walks on the Berghagener Kopf. From here you can reach the idyllic villages and farms of the Herscheid farming community to the north. The hilltops offer a fantastic view of the Lenne valley and the ridges of the Ebbegebirge with the Robert-Kolb-Turm and the television towers of Westdeutscher Rundfunk on the Nordhelle.
The bee nature trail of the Herscheid Beekeepers' Association is located on the adjacent meadow. A flowering strip with typical honey plants (food sources for bees) grows here over a length of 200 meters. Information boards explain interesting facts about bees. A colony of bees lives all year round in a so-called "Klotzbeute", where visitors can watch them at work behind the glass. In summer, there are also bee colonies in magazine hives along the nature trail.
