"Auf dem Brande" is the name of the mountain between Serkenrode and Dormecke. The legendary "Hexenstein" or "Predigtstein" is located here on the Heidfeld. A stone with an exciting history! That's what one or two myths suggest and you can feel this history.

The natural stone, measuring around 1.10 by 1.36 meters, inspires enormous respect, even if it is just a stone slab. If you want to, you can feel the stories that are said to have happened here, but an information board with an additional QR code also helps you to get to know the stone and its history better.

A seating area and trees invite you to linger and enjoy. The Hexenstein near Serkenrode is highly recommended as a rest stop to recharge your batteries and add some variety to your hike.
