The green tower, built using a shell-like construction method, was the northwest corner tower of the extended city wall. The adjacent section of the city fortifications leading toward the Oley Gate is also still clearly visible.
The striking Limp Tower on Bergstraße in Arnsberg is one of the few medieval fortification towers that have survived to this day. Built in the 13th century, it remains part of the old city wall to this day and served to defend the city at that time. Later, the tower was used as the city jail for a long time before it was no longer suitable for that purpose. (It is located on Bergstraße.)

Business hours
The old defensive towers, Limpsturm and Grüner Turm, are open only on special occasions or for guided tours (Limpsturm). However, they are clearly visible from the outside and feature an information sign.
