The green tower in shell construction was the north-western corner tower of the extended town wall. The adjoining part of the town fortifications towards Oleypforte is also still clearly visible.

The striking Limpsturm tower on Bergstraße in Arnsberg is one of the few medieval fortification towers that have survived to this day. Built in the 13th century, it is still part of the old town wall and was used to defend the town. Later, the tower was used as a town prison for a long time before it was no longer suitable for this purpose. (it is located in Bergstraße)
