The map of the Giershagen district serves as the blueprint for the Geological Garden. The various rock formations are represented in different colors according to their geographic location. The rock specimens are then mounted at the exact locations where they were found. Plates display the name of each rock type, while information boards provide everything worth knowing about Giershagen’s geology, illustrated with diagrams.

The Geological Garden can be reached via the hiking parking lot at the Grube Reinhard recreational area (Meilerplatz). Those arriving by car can follow the sign toward the Bionik-Pfad. Cyclists can reach the Geological Garden via the Diemelradweg.
