The Evangelical Church of Christ in Werdohl is located in the center of Werdohl in the Märkisch district. In terms of its liturgical function, it replaced the Ev. Kilianskirche dating back to 1125, which was a simple, three-aisled, two-bay hall church that was demolished at the end of the 19th century due to dilapidation.

The current Christuskirche was built in 1866-1868 and consists of a slender, neo-Gothic hall church with four bays and a 5/8 choir end. The hall building is complemented by several polygonal side apses and a retracted west tower. The church was built by Christian Heyden and is made entirely of quarry stone.

The façade of the Evangelical Church of Christ in Werdohl is divided by high pointed arch windows with four- and five-passages and stone bridges as well as narrow buttresses. The entrance is located in the recessed west tower and is characterized by a stepped portal with an ogival limb above it on two ¾ pillars with pinnacles. Directly above the door is a simple rose window,

which opens into a high hall with a ribbed vault. This rests on slender round pillars with foliate capitals and stepped services. Wooden galleries with carvings are located in the very narrow side aisles, and

the Evangelical Church of Christ in Werdohl has been a listed building since 1982.
