Nicolai Church has shaped the townscape since 1783. Despite all the development over the centuries up to the present-day town of Halver, the location of Nicolai Church is the geographical and traffic-related center of the village. The building is a simple rectangular hall with a west tower and a recessed, two-storey sacristy extension to the east.
Even without sacred paintings, the church is a total work of art: the carved gallery balustrade running around three sides, the nave, the altar-pulpit-organ structure or the listed Ibach organ provide a worthy setting for atmospheric events for up to 550 visitors.
The name of the Nicolai Church is derived from Nicolaus and is the center of the small town of Halver, visible from afar.
