Hiking on the Rothaar ridge
The "Drei Fichten" hiking parking lot is the starting point for numerous hikes and walks. The A 7 (6 km) is the start of a beautiful circular route that leads through the forest along the Hohe Netphe stream to Krämers Wiese. Here, the hiking trail crosses the Eisenstraße, an old trade route that was once used to transport goods such as charcoal. The trail continues to the geographical center of the Siegen-Wittgenstein district. There, the A 7 branches off to the left into the Ederbruch and the spring moor area. The hiking trail now runs parallel to the meandering Eder until it turns left again onto the Dreifichtenweg, which leads back to the starting point. From here, it is also possible to hike the A 2 (8 km) around the Hohe Netphe or via the Siegerland-Höhenring (diamond sign 1) to the Ginsberg Heath with Ginsburg and Gillerbergtum and the Gillerberum. There is also an entry point to the varied Netphen circular trail (marker N in a circle; 70 km). You can also start the sixth stage of the Rothaarsteig not far from the parking lot.
