The original church was probably built in the 11th century as a hall church with a rectangular choir, as evidenced by excavations in 1974.
The building is a small Romanesque hall church with three bays. It was built in the second half of the 13th century. The interior measures 8.8 × 12 m. The building with a semicircular apse was made of quarry stone and later plastered white. The church was extended to the west in 1924. The Romanesque building was preserved and the destroyed tower was rebuilt. The church was extensively renovated in the nineties of the twentieth century. The hall is characterized by plinth-less round pillars and groined cross vaults. Remarkable are the exposed remains of Romanesque wall paintings with scenes from the life of Jesus and St. Martin, among others.
