Description of the church

  • 1623 - Titmaringhausen was assigned to the parish of Deifeld. In order to save themselves the arduous journey to church in Deifeld, the Titmaringhausen residents built their own chapel.
  • 1639 - Jodokus Henschen and Joes Fresen donate the old bell. It weighs 90 kg, has a diameter of 0.53 m and a height of 0.42 m and bears the inscription: Titmarkausen fini fecit odoc Henschen et io Fresen 1639. The bell was christened Barbara and is still in service in the church belfry today
  • 1879 - The chapel, which had become too small, was extended to the west.
  • 1923 - The 300-year-old chapel was demolished and the nave was extended to the east.
  • 1925 - The altar, which had now found its place in the west, was consecrated.
  • 1927 - The interior of the church was repainted by church painter Bergenthal from Oberschledorn.
  • 1930 - The chapel was given a baptismal font and a Pieta from the workshop of sculptor Franz Schmiedeler in Medebach.
  • 1947 - Two new bells were consecrated on September 21: The Antonius bell (450 kg) bears the inscription: "Protect us Lord in all adversity. Help us to honor your commandment. The smaller bell weighs 250 kg and is dedicated to St. Michael. It bears the inscription: Ring bells, ring peace, even into every heart. The ringing of the three bells is tuned to the triad B flat - D sharp - F sharp.
  • 1948 - Titmaringhausen receives a mechanical church tower clock
  • 1951 - A sacristy was added at the suggestion of Pastor Brinkmann.
  • 1954 - The chapel was given its present form: the stream was built over and a small porch with a "stylishly crafted exterior door" was added. The stained glass windows also date from 1954. New pews and a new confessional were also purchased.
  • 1956 - The church was given a new exterior coat of plaster
  • 1969 - A new altar table and the stele for the tabernacle made of Anröchte dolomite were installed in the church.
  • 1973 - Mrs. Maria Hamborg donates a new copper ambo. As her deceased husband was named Paul, St. Paul is carved out of copper at the front.
  • 1996 - The interior of the church was renovated by the companies Schmiedeler/Medebach and the church painter Grosche/Küstelberg. Wooden pedestals and marble were installed. The exterior façade of the church was painted.
  • 2003 - The church roof and the tower were given a new slate covering in the old German style. The steeple cock was renewed.

Services of the Titmaringhausen Catholic parish are held regularly in the church.
