Hiking Adventures with Views of the Water
The Breitenbach Reservoir is a popular destination for recreational athletes and walkers. The 5.3-kilometer-long paved A 1 trail circles the second-largest drinking water reservoir in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district and is particularly easy for families to navigate. Along this loop trail, there are five informational signs providing details about regional history, the drinking water supply, and the reservoir. A special fitness experience also begins at the dam—the Calorie Trail. Except for two sections that cross the circular trail described above, the 6.7-km-long path runs through the forest and, with its ten fitness stations, is a special highlight for hikers.
