The beautiful castle in Amecke has been owned by the von Wrede family since 1338. The estate, referred to as “castrum Adenbecke” in 1397, was divided into an upper and a lower house in 1419. Through marriage, the upper house passed to the von Heigen (or Heggen) and Droste zu Füchten families. The lower house remained continuously in the possession of the von Wrede family, who repurchased the upper house in 1758, thereby reuniting the entire estate.
Unfortunately, the castle is not available for public tours. However, it’s a wonderful place to host a celebration.
