The spring is located in a natural setting and is designed as an inconspicuous but significant place. Directly at the course of the stream, a board on the fence of the adjacent ski jump area provides information about the river and its further course. From here, the young Agger takes its course to the south.
After just a few kilometers, the river reaches the well-known Aggertalsperre reservoir, a popular destination for leisure, recreation and nature experiences. Another branch of the Agger also feeds the Genkeltalsperre. Along its early course, the Agger also accompanies the Sauerland-Höhenflug and surrounds the idyllically situated Wasserschloß Badinghagen. After a total of around 69 kilometers, it finally flows into the Siegen.
A special experience for hiking enthusiasts is offered by the themed circular hiking trail along the Sauerland-Höhenflug called "Wasser-Weitblick-Pfad", which - in addition to other scenic and cultural stops - also leads past the Aggerquelle.

The actual Aggerquelle emerges from the ground for the first time from the fenced area on the meadow below the Schallershaus hiking parking lot. If you follow the Sauerland Höhenflug circular trail from the hiking parking lot (before the barrier at the edge of the forest, turn right down the path), you will come to the course of the young Agger, which flows into the Agger and Genkeltalsperre dams. You can also park at the Schützenplatz and walk from there across the Schützenplatz past the traffic circle towards the Butmicke barbecue area and just before the KKSV, turn left at the signpost downhill across the meadow to the Agger. If you want to travel by bus, you can get off at the "Im Brannten" bus stop, which is a short distance away.
