"Barley bread from Engemann's" is known as a Winterberg specialty beyond the city limits. for three generations we have been baking this bread according to a secret house recipe and "gersteln" (scorching) it in a stone oven with beech wood. Guests from the Ruhrgebiet, Holland and Belgium love its special taste, as do Winterberg residents and customers from neighboring towns. The quality and taste of our barley bread has been awarded gold several times by the German Bakers' Guild.
