Order of the shooting festival
Tuesday, June 2,
The shooting festival begins on Tuesday at 6 p.m. with the ceremonial raising of the shooting flag in front of the marquee. Afterwards, all guests are invited to enjoy a barbecue and chilled drinks in a convivial atmosphere to celebrate the start of the festival together.
Thursday, June 04 - Schützenfest (Corpus Christi)
Thursday is all about Corpus Christi. At 09:00, the marksmen take part in the Corpus Christi procession. In the afternoon, at 13:00, the board of directors and the marching band will line up to collect the festive music from the parish hall. The marksmen follow at 1.15 p. m. and then collect the clergy and the majesties and jubilee majesties. The traditional bird shooting begins at 4 p.m., at which the prince, king and district king are determined. The proclamation of the new majesties takes place at 8.00 pm. The celebrations continue in the marquee from 9.00 pm - at a party with DJ Robin Jungmann from the HSK.
Friday, June 5 - Children's shooting festival
On Friday, the festival belongs to the youngest participants. At 2.30 p.m., the children line up at the St. Severinus Wenden family center. From there, the children march together to the Schützenplatz, where the children's shooting festival takes place afterwards. A varied program of fun and games awaits the children around the shooting tent.
Saturday, June 6 - Schützenfest with big parade
Saturday begins at 2 p.m. with the companies meeting at their respective meeting points. At 2.15 pm, the companies march to the market square. There, at 2.30 p.m., the large parade through the streets of the village will form up. During the procession, the new majesties and the clergy are collected, followed by a visit to the old people's home. In the afternoon, the children's dance follows at 5.30 pm, before the royal polonaise takes place at 6.00 pm. The evening ends at 8.00 pm with dancing and entertainment with DJ JMK in the marquee.
Sunday, June 7 - Shooting festival with festive church service
The last day of the festival begins at 9.15 am with the line-up for the festive church service. At 9.30 a.m., the marksmen take part in the service, which is performed by the Sassmicke Music Association. This is followed by a tribute to the fallen and a morning pint, which brings the shooting festival to a close in a convivial atmosphere.
