Founded in Hamburg in 2019, Trio E. T. A. pays homage to the writer, composer and critic E. T. A. Hoffmann. The ensemble began making music together with romantic repertoire and feels inspired by Hoffmann's artistic versatility.
In 2021, the trio was awarded the prize of the German Music Competition, the special prize of the Rotary Club Bonn and the prize of the Friends of Young Musicians Germany. Since then, it has been supported by concert placements and is a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.
The evening's program is all about the key of F and combines works from three eras:
C. In his F major composition,C. P. E. Bach demonstrates the sensitive style as a contrast to baroque austerity - an expression of individual emotion that was completely new in the 18th century.
Robert Schumann unfolds romantic depth and melodic inventiveness in his second piano trio, while Antonín Dvořák combines great passion, dramatic contrasts and Bohemian esprit in his F minor Trio Op. 65.
