A broken jug triggers a serious trial in which village judge Adam, played by Jörg Schüttauf, becomes increasingly entangled in contradictions.
A jug breaks in the tranquil community of Huisum; at first glance, it's a manageable loss. But there is so much more at stake: Eve's reputation and her engagement to Ruprecht. After all, what was the village magistrate Adam doing at Marthe's daughter's house last night? The obvious is so obvious. During the trial, village judge Adam becomes increasingly entangled in contradictions under the suspicious gaze of his clerk and in the presence of the new court clerk Walter. Without further ado, Adam puts himself on trial...
In this production, village judge Adam becomes a victim without ignoring the patriarchal zeitgeist of the play.

Jörg Schüttauf, a popular television and theater actor, embodies the village judge Adam. The Chemnitz-born actor has appeared in 140 film and television productions to date and has also shone on the theater stage. He has been honored with various awards over the course of his artistic life. He has received the Grimme Award, the Bavarian Film Award, the German Actor Award, the German Television Award and the Zons Actor Award on several occasions.

"Der zerbrochne Krug" by Heinrich von Kleist was first performed in 1808 and is one of the most frequently performed classics on the German stage.

There will be a free introduction to the play by Linda Keil and Lasse Schulte at this event.
Start 7.15 pm in the auditorium.
