In the footsteps of traders - from the Hellweg to the world's great trade routes!
During the summer vacations, the children embark on an exciting journey into the world of trade! They explore why the Hellweg was so important as one of the oldest and most important travel routes for traders in Germany and how traders used to transport salt, spices and fabrics from place to place.
But the Hellweg is not the only focus: together they also look at other famous trade routes such as the Silk Road. The Hanseatic merchants also experience special adventures. In this way, the children understand how trade connects the world. What was traded? How did bartering work? And why were certain goods such as salt or spices so valuable?
With creative games and experiments, the children experience how trade worked - then and now.
