An exciting geological and archaeological journey through time awaits you in the Veleda Cave in Bestwig-Velmede. Three special guided tours of the cave are offered on Geotope Day.
Small groups of 6 people explore the cave in the Devonian Sparganophyllum limestone together with cave guide Stephan Nüse.
Warm, comfortable and dirt-resistant clothing, gloves and sturdy shoes are always required for the cave tour. With a humidity of > 95%, the temperature in the cave is around 8 degrees. Helmets and lights (flashlights) are provided.
Three special tours are offered.
These take place on September 21 at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. Each tour lasts approx. 90 minutes.
Important information:
A short section of the tour involves a slight climb, and
