Extreme temperatures! What effect do they have on our bodies?
Climate change is already leading to unbearably hot temperatures in some regions. How does the body react to heat stress? What and who do we need to pay particular attention to?
Dr. Hanns-Christian Gunga, Professor of Space Medicine and Extreme Environments at Charité in Berlin, explains how we can protect ourselves and better prepare for the next summer of the century in order to stay healthy. What measures should be taken personally and institutionally in the run-up to a heatwave?
"Professor Gunga is the first time we have had an internationally renowned scientist as a guest in my series of talks," says Michael Göring. "He is a specialist who knows how to communicate his research findings in a generally understandable and thoroughly entertaining way."
Hanns-Christian Gunga comes from Lippstadt-Benninghausen. He graduated from Overhagen grammar school, first studied geology in Münster, then medicine, and has been researching and working in Berlin and around the world for years.
