What began in the 1980s as a wild nettle meadow developed over time into an individual garden. At some point, Helmut and Gundel Bolz - the owners - asked themselves whether they were just doing it all for their own amusement or whether they wanted to share it with other gardening enthusiasts. Result:
"So we finally opened the rose garden to everyone who enjoys gardens like this, for example for the first time in June 2023 by participating in the Open Garden Gate. We were overwhelmed by the number of visitors, their interest and the professional exchange. That's why we will also offer insights by appointment, regardless of official dates."
What is there to explore? Helmut & Gundel Bolz continue:
"Around 170 rose varieties start their flower festival in June. These include 50 ramblers and climbing roses, which are native to houses, trees, rose arches, pergolas and obelisks. A documentation of the roses is available. As a rule, roses are mixed with grasses and perennials, including numerous peonies."
