Double bass, voice, charisma: Nicki Parrott is one of the defining personalities of modern mainstream jazz. The Australian musician attracted international attention early on, studied with jazz legends such as Ray Brown, John Clayton and Rufus Reid and became a fixture on the scene in New York. Her appearances alongside Les Paul at the legendary Iridium Jazz Club were also formative and played a decisive role in her development as a singer. With Frank Robertscheuten, Olaf Polziehn and Frits Landesbergen, Nicki Parrott combines virtuoso bass playing, elegant vocals and casual, fresh swing at international world level.
