At a time of increasing social tensions, the question arises as to how a respectful and peaceful coexistence can succeed. The Neve Shalom - Wahat al Salam peace village in Israel is an example of this. Jewish and Muslim people live together here and are committed to dialog, understanding and equal coexistence. The lecture sheds light on the history of this place and looks at current challenges. The focus is on questions that affect us all: How can we really listen to each other? How can respect and responsibility be strengthened? And what does it take to make it possible to live together despite different perspectives? The experiences of the villagers since the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 have been formative. In a time of deep pain, they have learned to recognize the suffering of others and to develop compassion across borders. The speaker is Paul Kröning. He has been committed to social dialog for many years and has been a board member of Neve Shalom - Wahat al Salam since 2025.
