As part of this interactive activity, children have the opportunity to get creative and make their own individual mountain dwarf. There are no limits to their imagination: whether brightly painted, printed or glued on - every gnome is welcome.
How it works: Download the gnome templates and bring them along: Children can simply download various templates for the mountain gnomes from the Sauerland Visitors' Mine homepage and then make their gnomes at home. The templates can be found at www.sauerlaender-besucherbergwerk.de.
There is also a craft activity in the museum: Alternatively, boys and girls can make and paint their mountain gnomes under supervision on Saturday, September 21, from 10 a.m. until around 5 p.m. directly in the Sauerland Visitors' Mine. The museum team will provide all the necessary materials free of charge.
Regardless of whether the children make their gnomes at home and bring them with them or make them on site in the museum under supervision - they can then set up their self-designed gnomes in the museum above ground. Together, the participants create a colorful dwarf landscape in the mining museum. The museum team will take photos of the dwarf parade. The children can later discover their dwarfs on the museum's website and on the Facebook and Instagram pages.
But that's not all: every child who brings along a self-made mountain dwarf will receive free entry to the mine at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 21. This mine tour is particularly child-friendly and is aimed at families with children. To enable the museum team to plan, please register briefly by phone on 02905/250 or by email to info@sauerlaender-besucherbergwerk.de. Please note: Free admission is only available to children with their mining dwarf.
The Sauerland Visitor Mine is looking forward to creative contributions and a big colorful mining dwarf parade in the mining museum.
