The Korean pianist Jeyu Lee has already won numerous prizes, including at the Korea Liszt Society Competition and the Seoul Arts High School Music Competition. He studied at the Korea National University of Arts with Prof. Daejin Kim and received scholarships there for several years. Concert appearances have included a Beethoven anniversary concert in Seoul in 2020. Since 2023, he has been continuing his studies in the master's program at the Mannheim University of Music with Prof. Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy.
In his program, Jeyu Lee unfolds the full diversity of piano music: Scarlatti's lyrical Sonata in A major, Debussy's impressionistic "L'Isle Joyeuse" and Prokofiev's powerful Toccata op. 11. The highlight is Beethoven's monumental Hammerklavier Sonata, one of the most technically demanding and at the same time most profound works in piano literature.
