The former Stiftskirche St. Walburga, which has been a parish church since 1787, stands on the foundations of a pre-Romanesque building. In the 9th century, the parish church became the center of a noble ladies' convent. The tower can be traced back to the years 897 to 913. The current apse with its raised choir was built after a fire in the 12th century.
At 11 a.m., the parish cordially invites you to join in the celebration of Holy Mass in the parish church of St. Walburga Meschede. This will be followed by a guided tour of St. Walburga's Church, the excavations and the abbey grounds at around 12 noon.
