The well-known Soest String Quartet of the Esser family plays an exquisite program with the rarely heard combination of classical guitar. The guest soloist is guitarist and fellow teacher Wolfgang Bargel. The program includes music by the Spanish composer Fernando Sor, who was a celebrated composer and soloist in Europe during the Viennese Classical period. There will also be well-known songs by Lennon/McCartney in wonderful arrangements by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer. There is also an original work by Sir George Martin, who was extremely successful not only as a Beatles promoter but also as a composer.
