When we enter the chapel, we leave the familiar, stable exterior space and enter an unstable space full of surprises - provided we engage with the visual stimuli. The room works with the basics of color perception: physically with wavelengths of light as well as reflection and absorption of colors, perceptually with our tendency to see impressions relatively and to hardly change perceptions once they have been formed. An RGB LED slowly changes the proportions of red, green and blue. The colored stripes on the wall only reflect their own color. The juxtaposition of different colors makes the wall appear to be in motion.

Laurenz Theinert (Stuttgart) is a light and media artist. His pursuit of radical dematerialization led him from classical photography to light as an independent artistic medium. Theinert does not simply create images, he creates light as a language, space as an instrument and time as a composition.
