Under the title “A Child Is Born to Us,” the St. Bartholomew Meggen Church Choir invites you to “Boxing Day,” Sunday, December 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., to a festive concert at St. Bartholomew’s Parish Church in Meggen. Visitors can look forward to an extraordinary musical experience: Christmas music from various eras, atmospheric tones, and world-class guests will guide the audience musically to the Child in the manger and under the Christmas tree. A special moment will be the communal singing of Christmas carols—uniting the choir, orchestra, and audience. Renowned ensembles and soloists have been secured for this concert:
- a chamber orchestra from the Dortmund Philharmonic,
- the brass quintet “emBRASSment” from Leipzig,
- soprano Anna Pehlken,
- and harpist Valeska Gleser.
Advance ticket sales begin on August 23 in Meggen, during the Bartholomew Patron Saint’s Festival. Anyone who would like to secure a special gift or Christmas present early—and do a good deed at the same time—can do so on Sunday at the parish festival or starting Monday, August 24, at the usual advance ticket sales locations.
Since only 350 seats are available in the church due to the nativity scene setup and Christmas decorations, it’s advisable to secure tickets early.
